Associate Professor of Political Science
Politecnico di Torino
Francesco Nicoli is Associate Professor of Political Science at Politecnico di Torino, Visiting Professor of Political Economy at Ghent University, and Visiting Fellow at Fondazione CSF. His research examines the political economy of supranational integration: how crises, institutional choices, public preferences, strategic sectors, and changing economic conditions shape collective action beyond the nation-state.
His work combines comparative and theoretical analysis with survey experiments and applied policy research. Across projects on fiscal integration, labour-market risk, health, energy, defence, industrial policy, and the space economy, he studies both the institutions that make common action possible and the political coalitions needed to sustain it. His publications are collected in the research library, while the teaching page presents his courses across institutions and degree levels.
